Oh wow, this is awesome. I want to start trying some impressionism shots too but I have no ideas.

are you going to tell us how you accomplished the end result? or are you keeping it a trade secret?
No trade secrets here... This is actually a double exposure, with the "back" image being gaussian blurred quite a bit. It's two nearly identical toys, paddles with suction cups to "catch" a ball. One is red, one is blue, and they are rotated slightly out of phase with each other as well. It's a pretty "standard" impressionism technique - double exposure with the bottom layer out of focus. I blurred mine with PS instead of the camera in this case.
